Glass Sandblasting

Glass Sandblasting done in house on all types of glass including custom designs.

Sandblasting is the method by which processed glass can be surface treated by impacting the glass with tiny particles of sand which are sprayed at a high velocity. This gives the glass a translucent surface which is rough in texture. The depth and degree of translucency created by this process varies depending on the type of sand used.

In conjunction with our vinyl cutting machine we can sandblast a variety of designs from simple numbers to names, designer borders and full eloquent designs, all to give the effect you require with the design you would like. Sandblasting can be well utilised in conjunction with lighting effects, placed at the rear of the processed glass or mirror, this effect is especially beautiful when used on mirrors.

Normally after processing we would treat the sandblasted surface with a clear coating, this in turn stops the glass from picking up marks from fingers and the like and makes it easier to clean where as not treated glass can be quite difficult to remove marks from. Additionally, if the sandblasted surface is to be used externally, then it must be treated to avoid deterioration over time.
